Song Salon is a 651 ARTS series centered on live exchange between artist and audience, inviting you into the stories, influences, and lived experiences that shape the work.

In a world shaped by algorithms and performance for the screen, Song Salon offers something different: a shared, in-the-room experience.

Part performance. Part conversation. 100% connection.

KAMAUU

KAMAUU is an LA- and Maryland-based artist, poet, and sonic visionary whose work exists at the intersection of spirit and sound. Blending hip-hop, soul, and ancestral rhythm, he creates music that feels both intimate and transcendent – a call to higher self and community.

His latest project, The Romantic Spirituals, is a collection of prayers, love notes, and conversations with The Creator and The Ancestors, pairing lush harmonies with meditative lyricism. With roots in the DMV and a voice shaped by African, Turtle Island, and global traditions, KAMAUU continues to expand what modern soul can mean – sacred, sensual, and deeply alive.
