651 ARTS began its radical intervention in 1980s New York City, building new stages for and mobilizing audiences towards the Black artforms that proudly call Fort Greene and the rest of Brooklyn “home.”

This year, we upped the ante for art of the African Diaspora in Downtown Brooklyn, launching a state-of-the-art performance and gathering space at 10 Lafayette Avenue, presenting new work across disciplines: from live theater, dance, and music; to our now-iconic, one-of-its kind Juneteenth Celebration.
